He met the 3 other members of Hippo Campus while attending the Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists
His nickname within the band is Espo.
He is a native of Minnesota. He had a cat named Feather and a dog named Sari.
He and Jake Luppen both play stringed instruments for Hippo Campus.
