Steady defensive shortstop who made his MLB debut in 2007 with the Atlanta Braves and joined the Tampa Bay Rays in 2013.

He escaped from Cuba in 2004 and wound up in the Florida Keys.

He played for the Toronto Blue Jays from 2010-2012.

He was born in Havana, Cuba.

Former MVP third baseman Chipper Jones was his teammate on the Braves.
