Yoshi Tsutsugo

ABOUT YOSHI TSUTSUGO

Professional outfielder that was signed by the Tampa Bay Rays as an international free agent in 2019. He was later signed by the Pittsburgh Pirates in August 2021.

Prior to playing in the majors, he played professionally for the Yokohama BayStars of the Nippon Professional Baseball league. He was a five-time NPB All-Star and a the NPB All-Star Game MVP in 2016.

He made his major league debut playing against the Toronto Blue Jays on July 24, 2020 as a member of the Rays.

He is a native of Hashimoto, Japan.

He recorded his first major league hit facing Hyun-jin Ryu .
