ABOUT WILLIS ALAN RAMSEY
Country and Americana singer-songwriter who rose to fame after the release of his 1972 self-titled debut album featuring the song "Muskrat Love," which was covered by Captain & Tennille in 1976. His songs have been performed by many other well-known artists such as Jerry Jeff Walker , Jimmy Buffett , and Waylon Jennings .
He performed in the choir at Highland Park High School. During his senior year, he performed in a school production of the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical Carousel.
His songs "Northeast Texas Women" and "Ballad of Spider John" have each racked up more than a million streams on Spotify alone. Later, Texas Monthly featured a retrospective of his self-titled album in its June of 2022 issue.
He was born in Birmingham, Alabama, but grew up in Dallas, Texas.
He and Lyle Lovett performed together on a livestream in 2021.
