ABOUT WILLIE JOHNSON
American guitarist who specialized in electric blues and played in Howlin' Wolf's band from 1948 to 1953. Some consider him to be the originator of the power chord.
He had his first band experience with Howlin' Wolf's band and provided his signature jazzy and raucous guitar sound to the Memphis recordings from 1951 to 1953.
He collaborated with Sammy Lewis on the song I Feel So worried in 1955 for Sun Records.
He grew up with family in Senatobia, Mississippi.
He worked for a number of years as part of Howlin Wolf 's backing band.
