Popular composer and pianist best known for works like Winter Dances, Midwinter, and The Blackened Man.

He was a member of the St. Oswald's Church choir and studied music at the University of Bristol.

His piece The Blackened Man won second place in the International Verdi Opera Competition in 2002 and appeared at the 2004 Buxton Festival.

He married soprano singer Bethany Halliday.

He did a piece inspired by the poem Dover Beach by Matthew Arnold called Let Us Be True.
