ABOUT WENDY HARMER
Australian writer and radio host who wrote a number of humorous "chick lit" books. Her best-known works include It's a Joke, Joyce, published in 1989, and Roadside Sisters, published in 2009.
She studied journalism at the Gordon Institute of Technology and subsequently worked as a reporter for the Geelong Advertiser.
She published her debut young adult novel, I Lost My Mobile at the Mall, in 2009.
She grew up with two brothers -- Phillip and Noel -- and a sister, Helen. With her husband Brendan, she raised two children.
She wrote the libretto for Lake Lost, a Baz Luhrmann opera.
