Guitarist who co-founded the Detroit rock group MC5 who was a singer, songwriter, and composer as well. The group released countless compilations and live albums throughout their career.
He co-founded MC5 in 1967 as a teenager.
His group MC5 blended aggressive garage rock music with left-wing politics. He was ranked as one of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time" by Rolling Stone.
His wife Margaret Saadi Kramer was also a film soundtrack producer.
While imprisoned on cocaine charges, he met the former jazz trumpeter for the Charlie Parker band.
