ABOUT VON MCDANIEL
Best known as a relief pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals , who played for one year before he developed problems with his pitching mechanics. He was downgraded to a minor league team but never fully rebounded. His career ultimately ended in 1966.
He made his professional debut in June of 1957 with the Cardinals but had been a rookie sensation since the age of 18.
He shifted to become a third basemen in the 1960 season and played for the Winnipeg Goldeyes.
He was born in Hollis, Oklahoma. His brother, Lindy McDaniels, was an MLB pitcher. He died in Lawton, Oklahoma after having a stroke and a heart attack.
He shared the field with Duke Snider .
