Vincent Laforet
ABOUT VINCENT LAFORET
Director and photographer who is known for both his commercial and video work. He is also a professor at the Columbia Journalism's Graduate School of Journalism and the International Center of Photography. He shares his photo and video work with his overĀ 50,000 Instagram followers.
With a passion for photography at a young age, he earned recognition in 2002 for winning a Pulitzer Prize for Feature Photography as a member of The New York Times coverage of the post 9/11 events. In 2006, he became the Times first ever national contract photographer.
He has been sent on assignment by multiple magazines and press outlets including Vanity Fair, National Geographic, Sports Illustrated, and Newsweek.
He was born and raised in Switzerland but later moved to Los Angeles to pursue his career in photography.
He posted a photo he took of Sammy Sosa hitting his 66th home run during a game against the Houston Astros in September of 1998.
