Prosecuted Charles Manson and his followers for the murders of Sharon Tate and others in 1969. He also wrote the 2008 book The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder.
He studied at the University of Miami on a tennis scholarship before earning his law degree at UCLA.
In 2011, he wrote Divinity of Doubt: The God Question.
He had two children named Wendy and Vince Jr. with his wife, Gall.
He published Reclaiming History: The Assassination of President John F. Kennedy in 2007.
