He began his professional career playing for the Astros' rookie affiliate team the Greeneville Astros.

He made his major league debut pitching against the Chicago White Sox on June 10, 2015 as a member of the Astros.

He is a native of Montclair, California.

He played alongside Bryce Harper as a member of the Philadelphia Phillies during the 2019 MLB season.
