ABOUT VINCE DOOLEY

Head football coach for the University of Georgia Bulldogs from 1964 to 1988 who helped the program win six SEC championships and one National Championship in 1980. He remained with the organization as an athletic director between 1979 and 2004.

He played quarterback for the Auburn Tigers from 1951 to 1953. He was an infantry officer in the US Marine Corps.

He has a long list of accolades as a head coach, including winning the "Bear" Bryant Lifetime Achievement Award in 2010. He also won the SEC Coach of the Year 4 times throughout his career.

His younger brother Bill worked with him on the staff of Georgia before becoming a head coach at the University of North Carolina. His son Derek was a head coach in the NFL and college.

He won the Walter Camp Coach of the Year honor in 1980, one year before Jackie Sherrill took home the honor.
