ABOUT VAUGHN MEADER
Grammy-Award winning comedian, who held a variety of different jobs in the industry, including actor, impersonator, and musician. He was best known for his Kennedy-related comedy and after JFK was killed his career took a major hit.
He was born into turbulent circumstances, having been placed in the care of his relatives as a baby. When he was five, he was sent to live with his mother, but was then placed in foster care after she was determined unfit, due to her alcoholism.
In 1963, he won the Grammy for Album of the Year for his comedy album, The First Family, which was based on the Kennedys.
He was married to his fourth wife, Shelia Colbath, until his death in 2004. He had two step-children.
After the assassination of John F. Kennedy in 1963, his career, which hinged almost entirely on his impersonation of the former President, nosedived.
