ABOUT VANESSA ATLER

Former elite gymnast who won three gold medals at the 1998 World Cup in Sydney. She became the 1997 U.S. national all-around champion.

She began taking gymnastics lessons when she was just five, and was competitive at the elite level by the age of 12.

At the 1998 Goodwill Games, she won gold medals in both the floor and vault routines.

She had her first child, a son named Darwin, in 2014. In 2018, she had a daughter named River.

As a junior gymnast she often competed against Kerri Strug .
