Valeri Liukin
ABOUT VALERI LIUKIN
Former men's artistic gymnast known for competing in the all-around, parallel bars, horizontal bar, rings and the team events during his professional career. He was hired to coach the Brazilian women's gymnastics team in 2018.
He first began participating in gymnastics at the age of seven. He competed at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, South Korea.
In 2005, he was inducted into the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame. He coached at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.
He married former Soviet gymnast Anna Kotchneva. He coached their daughter, Nastia Liukin , at the 2008 Summer Olympics.
He won an Olympic gold medal during his professional career just like Charles Barkley .
