ABOUT TYLER LYONS
Left-handed pitcher that was originally drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals during the ninth round of the 2010 Major League Draft. He was later signed by the New York Yankees in August 2019. He has also pitched in the Pittsburgh Pirates minor league farm system during his career.
Prior to being drafted, he played college baseball at Oklahoma State University . During his sophomore season, he was named a member of the second team All-Big 12. He played football in high school, lettering for three years.
He made his official major league debut pitching against the San Diego Padres on May 22, 2013 as a member of the Cardinals. His team won the game 5-3 and he pitched seven innings.
Growing up, he lived with his family in the Lubbock, Texas area. He is one of three siblings. He married his longtime girlfriend, Jennifer Sutton, in 2016. The two have a daughter together.
He played alongside Michael Wacha as a member of the Cardinals during the 2013 regular season.
