ABOUT TONIE CARROLL

Utility player in New Zealand's National Rugby League; played centre, lock, and second-row for close to 20 years.

He started playing rugby in high school, with the 1993 Australian Schoolboys team.

He was chosen as the centre for the 2001 Super League Dream Team.

He grew up around Christchurch, New Zealand.

He and Cameron Smith both played for the Australian national team.
