ABOUT TOMMY BANKHEAD
Blues guitarist known for being a fixture in the St. Louis blue scene for more than 50 years. He is known for backing musicians like Howlin' Wolf and Joe Hill Louis.
He was born in Mississippi but moved to St. Louis as a young man, where he played the guitar, bass, and harmonica for a living.
Later in life, he toured as bandleader in his band Tommy Bankhead and the Blues Eldoradoes.
His father was a musician who also played guitar professionally.
He served as a backing musician for renowned guitarist Elmore James , who was also his cousin.
