ABOUT TOM HUNTING

American drummer best known for his work with Bay Area thrash metallers Exodus. He is a founding member of the band and played on their iconic debut album, Bonded by Blood. His musical influences include Led Zeppelin 's John Bonham , Iron Maiden 's Clive Burr , and Rush 's Neil Peart .

He formed Exodus in the late 1970s with Keith Stewart, Tim Agnello, and Metallica 's Kirk Hammett .

He plays Yamaha drums. He briefly played in the band Quarteto de Pinga with Jason Newsted , Robb Flynn , and Andreas Kisser . In the summer of 2021, he began battling squamous cell carcinoma, and successfully beat it. His friend and bandmate Gary Holt helped organize a crowdfunding page to help him offset some of the high medical bills for his treatments.

He is from Richmond, California.

He and Paul Baloff were bandmates in Exodus.
