ABOUT TIM LAMAN
Wildlife photojournalist most famous for his photos documenting birds of paradise, which have appeared in publications like National Geographic. He is the co-author of the book Birds of Paradise: Revealing The World's Most Extraordinary Birds (2012).
He earned a B.S in biology from Hope College before earning his PhD from Harvard University .
His photo of an orangutan climbing a tree earned him the top prize at the 2016 BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year Awards.
He married university professor Cheryl Knott.
He and Martin Bailey are both respected wildlife photographers.
