ABOUT TIM HETHERINGTON

World Press Photo of the Year-winning photojournalist who was tragically killed while covering the Libyan civil War in 2011.

He spent two years traveling through Asia after graduating from high school.

He also earned an Academy Award nomination for the documentary Restrepo, which he co-directed.

He was in a relationship with Idil Ibrahim at the time of his death.

He was posthumously given a flag by Senator John McCain at his memorial service.
