Sportswriter most famous for his appearances on the ESPN sports debate show Around the Horn. He began his career as a beat writer for the Dallas Morning News in 1989.
He was born in Tulsa and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin.
He published his autobiography, Drunk on Sports, which chronicles his struggle with alcoholism, in 2013.
He was previously married to a woman named Lori, with whom he had children named Benjamin and Rachel.
He and fellow sportswriter Woody Paige have both been regular panelists on ESPN's Around the Horn.
