American singer, vocalist, entertainer, artist, performer, composer, and songwriter who is best known by her professional name Umi. She first gained fame for her 2018 song "Remember Me." She is also known for her singles "Love Affair," "Moonlit Room," and "Down to Earth."

She began writing music when she was just five years old. She was on the track team at Tahoma High School. She attended the University of Southern California . However, she dropped out in the year 2019 in order to pursue music.

Her music video "Remember Me," has received over 39 million views on YouTube in total. Another YouTube video of hers, which is called "UMI, V - wherever u r (ft. V of BTS) official lyric video", received close to nine million views in total.

Her father is African-American and her mother is Japanese. Her mother is the one who taught her how to read, write, and speak Japanese.

In the year 2019, she was an opening act for Conan Gray on his Comfort Crowd Tour.
