ABOUT TIA TORRES

Founder of the United States' largest pit bull animal shelter Villalobos Rescue Center who stars on the Animal Planet reality series Pit Bulls & Parolees. She initially opened the shelter in California before relocating to New Orleans, Louisiana.

She left home when she was 17 years old with a plethora of pets ranging from horses to a goat to dogs. She was previously a truck driver and would serve in the US Army.

After the Army, she worked as a youth gang counselor.

She comes from a broken home in California, and was raised by her stepmother. She has daughters named Tania and Mariah and later adopted twin Hawaiian boys named Kanani and Keli'i . She married Aren Marcus Jackson .

She was a guest on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart in 2014.
