ABOUT THOMAS WILLIAMS
Twentieth-century American novelist who is best known for The Hair of Harold Roux and Moon Pinnace. The former work won the U.S. National Book Award for Fiction.
He attended the Iowa Writers' Workshop and the University of Chicago and studied briefly in Paris.
His novel, Moon Pinnace, was a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award.
He was born and raised in Duluth, Minnesota. His daughter, Ann Joslin Williams, also had a career as a novelist.
He studied at the Iowa Writers' Workshop, where Meg Wolitzer once taught.
