Professional pitcher that was drafted by the Boston Red Sox during the 11th round of the 2007 MLB Draft. He was acquired by the Houston Astros via trade in July 2018. He was named an All-Star in 2019 and 2021.

He began his professional career playing for the Red Sox' rookie affiliate team the GCL Red Sox.

He made his major league debut pitching against the Detroit Tigers on April 4, 2013 as a member of the Minnesota Twins .

He is a native of Dallas, Texas.

He was selected as an AL All-Star in 2021, just like Shohei Ohtani and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. .
