In 2001, she won a Canadian Association of Journalists award for one of her broadcasts on The Fifth Estate.
She authored a book in 2001, regarding the 1999 death of the criminal Ty Conn, who had escaped from Kingston Prison. She had been on the phone with him when he committed suicide.
She had one child with her partner Rick Salutin.
Controversial religious leader Benny Hinn was featured on a 2004 episode of The Fifth Estate.
