Blues drummer who went from being an in-demand session player to a solo act, and then to an inspirational preacher.

He started his music career touring with Eddy Raven and later worked with Chet Atkins .

He had less success with his solo albums, his only single peaking at #85 on the Hot Country Songs chart.

He grew up in Lexington, North Carolina.

He worked as a session musician with Ray Charles , Dolly Parton, and many other well-known singers.
