Remembered as a pioneer of unisex fashion, this French designer introduced blue jeans and shoulder straps into the world of haute couture. In the 1960s, at the height of his career, he boasted such famous clients as Alain Delon and Brigitte Bardot .

He began his first fashion label in the early 1950s.

He was the first fashion designer to dress the famous model Twiggy in masculine-like clothing.

His two marriages resulted in a daughter named Eloise and sons named Thomas and Olivier.

In his early adulthood years, he apprenticed with the famous designer Christian Dior .
