She first performed stand-up comedy at her family's church at the age of 16.

In 2015, she was a top 10 finalist on the NBC reality series Last Comic Standing . She has acted in several TV movies and shows.

She was born in Orange County, California. She has an older brother named Dustin Nickerson and three younger siblings.

She co-hosts the Self-Helpless podcast alongside fellow comedian Kelsey Cook . She has a sister, Brinn Tomlinson who is also a performer.
