ABOUT TAKEHIKO INOUE

Japanese illustrator who rose to fame for his sports manga series Slam Dunk. He followed up with the martial arts manga series Vagabond. His animated film adaptation of his Slam Dunk manga, The First Slam Dunk, was released in 2022.

He attended Kumamoto University.

He has received numerous honors for his work, such as the Tezuka Award, the Shogakukan Manga Award, and the Cultural Prize at the Asia Cosmopolitan Awards. He shares his illustrations on his inouetake88 Instagram account, where he has gained upwards of 500,000 followers.

He is from Kagoshima, Japan.

His Vagabond manga was adapted from the writings of Eiji Yoshikawa .
