Pop singer best known as the leader of South Korean girl group Girls' Generation , best known for their singles "Into the New World" and "Kissing You."

She attended Jeonju Art High School, aspiring to become a famous singer.

She almost got pulled off the stage by a trespasser at the Angel Price Music Festival, but was saved by one of her group members.

She has an older brother, Kim Jiwoong, and a sister, Kim Haeyeon. She has dated musician Baekhyun .

She is joined in Girls' Generation by Yoona , Tiffany , Yuri , Sunny , Seohyun , Hyoyeon , Sooyoung and Jessica .
