ABOUT TABRAIZ SHAMSI
Award-winning cricketer for the Karachi Kings, far-famed for his left-arm unorthodox spin as a bowler. He has also played for teams such as the Hollywoodbets Dolphins and the Rajasthan Royals. He was a part of South Africa's squad in the 2019 Cricket World Cup and in March 2021, he reached the top of the ICC T20I rankings for bowlers.
He began playing cricket in high school, as a frontline seam bowler. He later became a spin bowler, upon advisement from his coaches. He made his professional debut in 2016, playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore team, against the Rising Pune Supergiants.
In 2021, he was named the Men's T20I Cricketer of the Year at the CSA Awards. That same year, he won ICC Men's T20I Team of the Year, as a player in South Africa's Squad for the World Cup.
He married Khadija Shariff Shamsi in 2018. They had one son named Ebrahim.
Some of his teammates on South Africa's squad for the 2019 Cricket World Cup included Faf Du Plessis , Hashim Amla , and Imran Tahir .
