Wicket keeper who played first class for Worcestershire from 1935-1946.
He played for Yorkshire in 1930, before his fame occurred.
Following his playing career he was a well-known cricket umpire.
He was born in Wortley, Leeds, and died while officiating a match.
He joined cricketers such as Bill Edrich who had their careers interrupted to serve in the Royal Air Force.
