ABOUT SUE THOMAS
A famous lip-reader and author, she published Silent Night, a memoir of her experiences as the first deaf undercover investigator for the FBI. She worked for the FBI during the late 1970s and early 1980s.
During her childhood, she was a free-style skating champion. She later received a degree in political science from Springfield College.
Her life inspired the 2002 television series, Sue Thomas: F.B. Eye.
She grew up in Ohio and became deaf just before her second birthday.
She was portrayed by actress Deanne Bray in the television series, Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye.
