Punk rock musician who fronted two influential groups: The Dead Boys and the Lords of the New Church.
His band The Dead Boys were regular performers at the popular New York nightclub CBGB, and they were featured on several punk rock documentaries.
After The Dead Boys, Bators tried to reinvent his image, from a punk musician to a new wave artist, but soon gave it up and returned to his punk antics.
He grew up in Youngstown, Ohio.
He was a devoted fan of Iggy Pop , and reportedly was the one to hand him the peanut butter he smeared on himself in a famous performance with the Stooges.
