ABOUT STEVEN STAMKOS

NHL center who won the Maurice Rocket Richard Trophy as the league's top scorer in 2010 and 2012 with the Tampa Bay Lightning . He was selected first overall in the 2008 NHL Draft and soon after became one of the game's top offensive players.

He played in the Ontario Hockey League with the Sarnia Sting from 2006 to 2008.

He won a gold medal with Canada at the World Junior Championships in 2008. His 60-goal 2011-2012 season set a Lightning franchise record for goals in a season.

He has a sister named Sarah.

One of the most accomplished players in franchise history, he followed Vincent Lecavalier and Martin St. Louis to become the third player to score 300 goals and 500 points as a member of Tampa Bay.
