ABOUT STEVE LOMBARDOZZI

MLB second baseman who won the 1987 World Series as a member of the Minnesota Twins. After retiring at age thirty, he became a coach for the Pittsburgh Pirates organization.

He played college baseball for the Florida Gators, earning All-SEC honors in 1981.

He proved to be the best hitter in the 1987 World Series with a batting average of .412.

His son is professional baseball player Steve Lombardozzi, Jr.

He won the 1987 World Series alongside Twins third baseman Gary Gaetti .
