ABOUT STEVE BORTHWICK

English rugby coach and former rugby union player who played lock for Bath and Saracens. He represented the senior England rugby union team internationally from 2001 to 2010. He was appointed the team's forwards coach in December 2015, and was later appointed head coach in December 2022.

He studied economics and politics at the University of Bath, and graduated in 2003.

He was named captain for England's 2008 Six Nations match against Italy. He was later chosen to captain the full English squad on their 2008 summer tour of New Zealand.

He was born and raised in Carlisle, Cumbria, England. He is married and has two sons.

He replaced Eddie Jones as head coach of England's national team.
