ABOUT STEVE AVERY
All-Star left-handed starting pitcher best known for his time with the Atlanta Braves in the early 1990s.
He played baseball at John F. Kennedy High School in Taylor, Michigan.
His best season came in 1993, when he went 18-6 with a 2.94 ERA in 223.1 innings, also making his lone All-Star appearance.
He married Heather McMillian November 12, 1991.
In the '90s, he was the fourth starter in an Atlanta Braves rotation that was led by Greg Maddux , Tom Glavine, and John Smoltz, three of the best pitchers of the era.
