ABOUT STEPHEN GROOTES

Journalist, reporter, and presenter who is best recognized for having hosted the SAfm's flagship show SAfm Sunrise. He is best known for his focus on local events throughout the South African political scene and for his work with the program The Midday Report.

He started his career working at Joburg's Radio 702 where he hosted both the morning and drive programs. He then spent five years at the head of the current affairs show The Midday Report. He then moved to the SAfm show SAfm Sunrise.

He is also known for his passion in mountain biking and often discusses the subject through his Twitter account.

He was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa.

He has written several articles about President Cyril Ramaphosa including his post-election cabinet appointments in May of 2019.
