Television and film actress best known for her roles as Estrella in the 2015 Bond film Spectre and as Valeria Velez in Netflix's 2015 series Narcos. She later played Captain Jessica Cortez throughout the TV series S.W.A.T.

Her first major role was in the 2011 action film Miss Bala, where she played the main character. She also starred in the FX series The Bridge alongside Diane Kruger .

In 2014 she starred in the Arctic Monkeys music video for their single "Snap Out Of It." She played Sister Charlotte in the horror film Annabelle: Creation .

Her father was an American baseball scout for the Yankees. She was born in Ciudad Obregón. She and her husband Brian Andrew Mendoza wed on October 27, 2018. Their son Noah Hawk was born the following year.

She starred in Spectre as one of the Bond Girls opposite Daniel Craig and Christoph Waltz .
