Prior to fashion, she studied French and International Relations at the University of Pennsylvania.

Her first job interview was on Wall Street, which she rollerbladed to wearing a fur bomber jacket and orange pants.

She married Eric Eisner in 2008, and had two daughters: Eloise and Scarlet.

She has numerous celebrity fans, including Avatar star Zoe Saldana .
