Actress most notable for her performance in Bengali television series, particularly the titular role of the drama series Mithai. She has also portrayed roles in TV shows such as Gopal Bhar, Aloukik Na Loukik, and Jai Kali Kalkattawali. She has established a fanbase on social media as well, with over 1 million followers to her soumitrishaofficial Instagram account, where she shared dance reels and modeling photos.

She made her acting debut on the television series E Amar Gurudakshina, playing the role of Jhilly.

She earned Best Actress at the 2022 West Bengal Tele Academy Awards for her performance in Mithai.

On February 24, 2023, she shared a series of photos to her Instagram account in which she appeared alongside both of her parents.
