Professional starting pitcher that was first signed by the Philadelphia Phillies as an international free agent in 2015. He was later acquired by the Miami Marlins via trade in February 2019.

He first began his professional career playing for the DSL Phillies rookie affilate team. He was later sent to the GCL Phillies.

He made his major league debut pitching against the Washington Nationals on August 22, 2020 as a member of the Marlins. He pitched only five innings and received his first MLB win. He was at one point ranked as high as the #6 prospect in the league by Baseball America.

Growing up, he lived with his family in San Cristobal, Dominican Republic. He is one of seven siblings.

He was once packaged in a trade that included Jorge Alfaro and J.T. Realmuto .
