ABOUT SIMON EDVINSSON

Professional defenceman and athlete that was initially taken as the sixth overall pick in the 2021 NHL draft by the Detroit Red Wings . Since beginning his professional career, he has played hockey in leagues across Sweden, Canada, and the United States.

As a teenager, he played for the Frölunda Hockey Club. He also played for Sweden's youth national team.

In addition to hockey, he also has a passion for mixed martial arts. In fact, he trains for MMA during his offseason. He is also a member of the Swedish national team. He stands six feet, six inches tall and weighs a little over 200 pounds.

Growing up, he lived with his family in Onsala, Sweden. He is the oldest of two brothers.

He credits Victor Hedman as being one of biggest NHL influences while growing up.
