ABOUT SIMON BROWN
Jamaican boxer nicknamed "Mantequilla" who earned IBF, WBC and Lineal Welterweight titles during his dominant career. He defended his IBF title a total of nine times and rattled off twenty-one straight victories.
He began his professional career in 1982 at age nineteen.
In 1991, he took the WBC and Lineal Welterweight title from Maurice Blocker, who was his friend and neighbor.
He has been married and has children.
He defeated Terry Norris to win the WBC Light Middleweight Championship in December 1993.
