ABOUT SID GOING

Rugby union legend who is widely considered one of the greatest running halfbacks in New Zealand's history. He spent fourteen seasons with Northland and won the Tom French Cup as the best Maori player of the year a record six times.

He traveled to Canada as a missionary at age nineteen. He began his career with North Auckland three years later.

He is member of the Church of Latter Day Saints and was named the President of Hamilton New Zealand Temple in 2013.

He has five children, including rugby players Jared Going and Milton Going. His brothers are rugby players Ken Going and Brian Going.

He battled British Lion Gareth Edwards while playing for Northland.
