Shobana Chandrakumar
ABOUT SHOBANA CHANDRAKUMAR
Prolific Indian actress and dancer known largely for her work in Malayalam cinema. Her debut lead role came in 1984 with the drama film April 18. She would go on to give award-winning performances in films such as Innale, Manichitrathazhu, and Varane Avashyamund.
She received training in dance from the famous Bharatanatyam dancers Chitra Visweswaran and Padma Subrahmanyam.
She won a Kerala State Film Award for her performance in Manichitrathazhu. She has performed classical Indian dance on her shobana_danseuse Instagram account, where she has gained upwards of 1.3 million followers.
She has an adopted daughter named Anantha Narayani Chandrakumar.
She worked alongside Suresh Gopi on the cast of the 2020 Malayalam-language romantic comedy film Varane Avashyamund.
